At long last, Virgil! The last piece of Elysium!

Finally, I'm done with Elysium. Here is the madman behind it all, Virgil The Recluse.

Well all know who Virgil really is...

Notes on Virgil
To refer to Virgil as a genius, would be an understatement. His mind is capable of understanding concepts and forms of logic that other sapient beings require cybernetic enhancements to understand. Virgil is also quite mad. He suffers from a number of mental illnesses to such an extent that interacting with others is difficult at the best of times. Virgil has a nearly debilitating fear of germs, making him shun any form of skin to skin contact. He also suffers from a form of neurological dysfunction, resulting in the sensations of extreme pain from normally innocuous sensations. Sensations, such as the feeling of cloth and having his nails and hair cut cause him and incredible amount of pain. Virgil only dresses in a hospital gown, and uses rectangular boxes for shoes. Despite these difficulties, he is capable of outsmarting the most intelligent of opponents.

When interacting with Virgil for the first time, use the standard reaction rolls found in whatever set of rules you are using. Whatever the result, Virgil will persist in his opinion of the group despite their actions to reaffirm or counter this opinion. When Virgil makes a choice, his will is such that he will never change his mind.

*Virgil's Psi-Focus – Virgil possesses a piece of an ancient Earth flight-vehicle known as and airplane. The piece itself was known as propeller, and is nearly as tall as Virgil's 2 meter height. Despite the fact that the its glossy black construction gives it a weight of over 100 kilograms, Virgil's emaciated form is able to wield it as if it weighed 100 grams. The propeller grants the wielder a number of abilities, as long as the wielder is bonded to it. To bond with the Psi-Focus, an individual needs to sacrifice 1 HP worth of blood onto the propeller for a number of days equal to the level of individual wishing to bond with it. The Psi-Focus may only have one person bonded to it at a time, to all others it is a functionless 100 kilogram piece of matter. The propeller grants the following abilities:

  • +5 to the wielder's Psion level, if they possess any on their own.
  • Grants the user use Mindbolt at will, with a caster level equal to the level of the bonded individual's. If the individual has Psion levels, the +5 bonus applies to the wielder's level when figuring damage and range. (Virgil: 45 meters and 20D4+6 damage)
  • The Psi-Focus grants the wielder 1D4 armor while they hold it. This armor is increased by 1 die type for every 3 levels the wielder possesses, with the die type after 1D12 being 1D20. (Virgil: 1D20)
  • Grants the user use of Detect Psi at will, with a caster level equal to the level of the bonded individual's.
  • Grants the user the use of Glow at will, with a caster level equal to the level of the bonded individual's. If the individual has Psion levels, the +5 bonus applies to the wielder's level when figuring the radius of the light. (Virgil: 24 meters).

**XP-73 Pistol – Among Virgil's mental peculiarities is the inability to be satisfied with a project or creation. He is constantly nagged by the feeling that he is missing something important, or that the project is perfect save for one undefinable thing. This inability to be satisfied means he is constantly building, rearranging, and disassembling objects he uses frequently. The object at the center of this mania is his XP-73. The pistol rarely maintains the same configuration from one day to the next. Each time the characters interact with Virgil, roll on the charts below to determine the functionality of the pistol. The only things that remain the same about his pistol is the range and the ammo-save.

Damage - 1D6

  1. Heat
  2. Energy

Armor: 0 / 6 with Virgil's Propeller
Action Dice: 4d6 / 5D6 for Psycho-Brain-Voodoo
#Attacks: 3 [Level: 15]
Special: Propeller Powered: Virgil carries a glossy black propeller from an ancient Earth vehicle known as an airplane. The propeller enhances Virgil's Psycho-Brain-Voodoo, as well as the Psycho-Brain-Voodoo of anyone else if they are bonded to it. To bond with the propeller, an individual needs to sacrifice 1 HP worth of blood onto the propeller for a number of days equal to the level of individual wishing to bond with it. The propeller may only have one person bonded it to at a time, to all others it is a functionless 220 pound piece of matter. It grants the wielder +1D6 when using Psionics and The Way. The propeller grants the wielder 1 armor, +1 armor for every 3 levels the individual possesses. Even if the wielder isn't capable of using Psionics or The Way, the propeller gives them the ability to: detect the use of Psionics or The Way, shed a bright light, and fire bolts of psychic energy. If the wielder is capable of using Psionics or The Way, they may add the +1D6 bonus the propeller grants. Undead Cyborg: Virgil is so full of cybernetics and nanites that he might as well be considered undead. Virgil's Wacky Raygun: Every time the PC's encounter Virgil, his gun does something new. Psycho-Brain-Voodoo: Virgil is capable of telepathy, telekinesis, jaunting (teleporting) short distances, dominating the weak-minded, and electrocuting people with lightning that shoots out of his fingers.

Virgil's Raygun
  1. Freeze Ray – Freezes parts of a target, or an entire target. You're as cold as ice.
  2. Heat Ray – Lights folks and objects on fire. It's shake and bake, and you helped.
  3. Gravity Ray – Makes folks really heavy, or crushes them flat. All your weight falls on them.
  4. Pixel Ray – Pixelates the target, turning them into a 16-bit version of themselves. 'Cause you've got Pac-Man fever.
  5. Gamma Ray – Turns your target green... Then their flesh breaks out into sores, then sloughs off. Hulk-o-Mania has got ya, brother.
  6. Furniture Ray – Target gets hit with materialized piece of random furniture. 1) Wing-Back Chair 2) Setee 3) Piano Bench 4) Recliner 5) Ottoman 6) Leopard-Print Porno Sex Couch. F*ck your couch, Darknesses!
